What is Media, anyway?

For many of us, "media" used to mean several finite, manageable ways to communicate a message to an audience. There was print, TV, radio ... maybe film. Today, "media" has exploded to include a whole universe of continually-evolving possibilities. That can be really exciting – but it also can be overwhelming and intimidating.

Our careers started in the era of x-acto knives, press-type, and waxers. Today, studio, light table, darkroom, composition and pre-press are all contained in our computers, giving us the possibility of unprecedented freedom of expression, control, and ease of communication.

We feel fortunate to have a perspective that combines traditional communication and design principles with excellent knowledge of what's new and practical – undazzled by the latest faddish behavior.

Understanding media — and advising our clients how to use it — is a big part of what we do. We want to give you the advantage of the best of what's out there.

We hope you'll find the resource section of our website thought-provoking, and useful.
